Harpist & Trumpeter SW15
Including; Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire Areas

Every bride deserves to have a wonderful wedding full of magic and romance. The music of one of the most beautiful instruments on earth can bring added splendor to this special day, with images of angels and mermaids, myths and fairytales.

This harpist understands how important it is to have just the right atmosphere on your special day.  She can provide a wide variety of music and styles to match your requirements and will talk with you about exactly what you would like for your wedding.  Her repertoire link gives details of some of the music she has played at previous events but it is not an exhaustive list. If your favourite piece is not included here, it may still be in her repertoire, and if not, given enough notice, she is often able to learn new music on request.

Whether you are planning a civil or church ceremony the harp makes the perfect accompaniment.  You could consider background music while your guests are arriving, something more individual during the signing of the register and another selection while the guests are leaving. You could also have music during the reception while friends and family mingle and dine.  The harp suits any venue being equally at home in a church, private house, hotel, marquee or garden.

But thatís not all this harpist has to offer.  Why not balance the beauty of the harp with the brilliance of a trumpet fanfare for the entrance of the bride or the departure of the bride and groom? She plays both modern and baroque trumpet, and is happy to combine her talents for your wedding. There are many magnificent pieces that can be used with or without organ accompaniment and which make majestic alternatives to the more traditional bridal marchesCornwall harpist and trumpeter.

This harpist started playing the harp and the trumpet when she was eight, and is now highly accomplished on both instruments.  She has been playing both instruments at weddings and dinners for the last six years, and has an extensive repertoire of solo music.

She is also an accomplished ensemble instrumentalist, who has played her harp in a wide range of groups in London, Cambridge and Buckinghamshire. Performances have included works by composers such as Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Saint-SaŽns, Wagner and Vaughan Williams, and she particularly enjoyed the challenges of Brittenís Nocturne, The Turn of the Screw and A Ceremony of Carols. She has worked on original incidental harp music with Howard Williams and Robin Holloway, performing the latterís Nausikaa in open air theatres in Ravenna and Tuscany.

Harpist SW15 has studied the harp with the internationally renowned harpists Gabriella DallíOlio, Head of Harp at Trinity College of Music, and Catherine White of the Birmingham Conservatoire and natural trumpet with John Hutchins of the Royal Academy of Music.

This harpist is based on the border between Devon and Cornwall, but she performs all across the South West.  She is available for weddings, funerals, dinners, and corporate and other events.

Thank you so much for playing wonderfully at our wedding. You were great when we were planning the day and really helped us with the choice of suitable pieces. Having you play before the ceremony relaxed and entertained our guests who were enthralled by the beautiful sound of your harp which really created a special atmosphere. It made our day so memorable!

I cannot thank you enough for playing at my daughter Jessica and Shash's wedding on Friday.  Your music was truly lovely, you are so talented and our guests were singing your praises all day, and still are.  I am sorry I did not have more time to talk to you, you are so very sweet.

I would particularly like to thank you for learning to play "Can you feel the love tonight" it was beautiful and brought a tear to my eyes. But then when you played "Somewhere over the rainbow" my husband was shedding a tear or two.  So well done and many, many thanks.

Regards Virginia

I could not get out to thank you and say farewell. Everyone loved your playing and the pieces chosen. We fell much behind time and I was sorry you could not stay on, in fact it did not die down till 1 am in the end. For us it was a fantastic day and the children were fascinated by the harp lesson. Again thank you for all you did and the hotel have asked for your email, so I have passed it on.

Regards Mary Waddington
